NASHTU Represented at Annual Fraud Awareness Conference

Mary Richards, MOSES President, was invited by the U.S. Inspector General's Office to speak at the National Fraud Awareness Conference which was held on June 8- 10th in Seattle, WA.

Richards spoke on the barriers of fraud detection and enforcement from the perspective of the workers on highway project sites.

Her speech was well received and NASHTU's interests were articulated at this national forum of some 500 attendees from DOT managers, state workers, regulators and others with interest in the issues.

She was invited to participate in another meeting in July in Washington, D.C. where outreach efforts will be formulated to help workers report suspected instances of fraud, waste and abuse.

The conference was co-sponsored by the United States Office of the Inspector General, Department of Transportation and the American Association of State Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
